Wife surprised me and a buddy with two tix to the Joint to see Kiss 3 rows off the stage last Saturday night. Say what you will about them as a band and their quality as musicians but man they put on a fun show I had a blast! I saw them in '77 when I was 10 and again in '97 and now 2014. They looked to be in fantastic shape Paul especially for 62ish yo. I met Paul the day of the show at a book signing he was very friendly. Thanks for the fun night KISS!
This has been my experience with KISS as well. I definitely like a lot of their tunes, but I can’t say that more than one or two would even land in my top 100. The show, however, is something entirely different. It’s quite impressive.
That’s pretty damned cool. I saw one of their “farewell” tours in Roanoke VA in 96. STILL going strong!
Love Kiss. Was Paul’s voice alright? From some of the recent clips I’ve seen it seemed to me like it’d gone a bit.
Yes Pauls voice was definitely losing some strength for sure he skipped a few parts of some songs he usually belts out. Same with Gene. I still thought they sounded pretty good and wished they could have played another half an hour at least. They played a pretty good mix of older and newer stuff too.
Saw them back in '84 and in '96. They put on a great show. Always liked Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park movie. Acting was so bad it was good.
I saw them as well in 1977. I was working Stage Security and my station was right in front of Gene Simmons.
The warm up act was AC/DC…with Bon Scott!
