Savannah Bananas

Anybody else into the latest in baseball - professional exhibition leagues? I’ve become a big fan of the Savannah Bananas that started the sport. Last weekend we watched the game vs the Indianapolis Clowns, along with a sold-out crowd in Royals stadium. Family friendly and fun for kids of all ages.

We entered the lottery for both Chicago and Richmond, VA and went 0-2. Saw the story about them on 60 Minutes and it looked like a blast.

There’s a Chicago SnowBalls team that plays IL, IN, IA, WI - might look into that.

We went to the Bananas game last year here in Denver. If you like baseball, it’s worth it. It was a crazy, loud, fun experience. But just once is good enough for me. It was like 48 hours of Vegas rolled into 3 hours.

We really like baseball and this is our second year. Tickets are crazy pricey on StubHub etc. Fortunately, we have friends with Royals season tickets, and they get first dibs at a reasonable price. We were behind first base, just 10 rows up and our seats were $40. Royals stadium is easy to get in/out so it’s not an all day event.

I love our local minor league team Spokane Indians. They’re the High-A affiliate of the Rockies. Ticket prices start at $12.50.

We hit the lottery last year and went to Angel stadium a couple months ago. We absolutely loved it, wife turned into a banana girl, kids were entertained the whole time. One got an autograph on his banana suit from a player cruising the cheap seats, and I love that there is a time limit on the games and you can plan your time and exit accordingly. Tickets are super cheat(original price, not after market) so a family of 5 doesn’t break the bank. I think wife also found out another way to increase the lottery odds, some group you can join, so we will be looking to get in as often as possible for any games within driving distance. And funny that it was probably the first time in a long time that Angel stadium was a complete sell out, losing Ohatani has really hurt that franchise..

I went to Indians games as a kid. I’m dying to go back next time we can swing a visit to the Spokane - CdA area during the season.

I’m a very big fan of many of the players Instagram account accounts. They are very photogenic. My friend and I looked at going to the game at Royal Stadium, but the prices were just crazy.

ETA: I see they were there last weekend, which explains why the Big Slick baseball game couldn’t happen (which I would rather go to, because… Paul Rudd).

And Banana Jackson Olson is going to be on Dancing with the Stars later this summer.

We saw them in Norfolk VA last summer it was a blast and I would definetly go again
