Sanity Check Needed

Critics of the Iraq war proposed a congressional resolution on Thursday calling for a U.S. troop withdrawal.

The resolution, backed by North Carolina Republican Rep. Walter Jones and Hawaii Democratic Rep. Neil Abercrombie, calls for the Bush administration to develop a plan by the end of this year to pull out all American troops from Iraq and to begin the withdrawal by Oct. 1, 2006.

Jones said U.S. forces had removed
Saddam Hussein, given Iraqis a chance to have democracy and were training their military.

“After they’re trained, what else should the goals be? Do we want to be there for 20 years or 30 years?” he said.

Develop a plan? No wonder the White House vetoed the idea. If we had a plan then we could measure success or failure. Great to see both the Republicans and Democrats working together on anything. Hopefully more and more people are seeing that the king has no clothes.

I actually agree with you. The post-war planning was poor and we need an exit plan. But if we leave too soon before the Iraqis can defend themselves it will be to our detriment.

perhaps not…

yeah and I have some swamp land in a Florida housing bubble you might be interested in.

Al before we went to war it was about WMDs, the freedom excuse only began to surface when it became clear to the administration that there were no WMDs

Pretty original, but tired. Did you get that off of Barbara Boxer’s website? You guys need to work on your material.

Poor? How about nonexistent?

Hope is NOT a plan

And we’re assuning that Iraq is going to remain a country for any appreciable amount of time. Not bloody likely. I bet that soon we’ll be talking about the continuing warfare between Kurdistan, Sunnistan, and “what’s-left-of-Iraq”-istan. And let’s throw in Turkey and Iran while we’re at it…

Let’s face it, sanity checked out a long time ago.

Hyperbole and exaggeration only serves to stroke your own lack of sanity.
