I really want to sign up for this race but seriously, $600+? Can devoting the better part of my life to cancer research offset some of this? The economy is so bad for everyone that I can’t even bring myself to beg for monetary help.
Same here. I like the idea of the race and who it benefits, but trying to get donations when everyone (myself included) is on a tight budget it tough.

Thanks for the suggestion but I needed a November race to fit my schedule. I searched around and there’s not much going on… IMFL, etc.
I might travel up to do the Marin County tri. It’s pricey but not too bad. It’s only an oly but what the heck! Fun is fun!
There’s the Big Rock Oly in early November at Lake Perris, and the Turkey Tri which is a between a sprint and an Oly Thanksgiving weekend. Plus, there’s the Soma 1/2 in late October in Phoenix…that’s a shorter drive than Marin County.
