San Diego to Lake Elsinore/Temecula Cycling Route?

Good Evening, quick question on cycling routes:

Does anyone have a recommendation on a cycling route from the general San Diego area to the Temecula/Lake Elsinore area? Wife is having a family get together and I got the ok to ride up if I can find a route (also gets me out of a few hours of chit chat with the in-folks  Thanks

one route is to ride up to the coast to Oceanside, head east via the San Luis Rey Trail, turn onto College, left onNorth River, up and over Sleeping Indian, to Olive Hill, Camino Del Rey, West Lilac to Old 395 and head north.

See link: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1120151

Another option if you want less-traveled roads is to continue past 395 on West Lilac and take Couser/Rice Canyon north. Head west in Rainbow to catch back to 395 and continue north to Temecula.

A challenging return from Temecula is up over Rancho California heading west into De Luz Canyon through Fallbrook. This is a tough ride.

All of these routes will be HOT this time of year. Take plenty of water. I rode Palomar this morning and coming back on 76 it was like a blast furnace.

PM me for more ideas.
