No luck registering for either race. Sold out or glitch?
Anyone get in today? and early reg had a password I didn’t know how to get.

Glitch. I just called and was told that there’s a glitch. They hope to have it fixed within a couple of hours.
Phew!
Active.com fail. Big surprise
same problem here still. Ive been trying all day and was freaking out. I even posted about it, and just found this post. LOL
everything else is getting put off until im registered. I wonder how bad it will affect the Wildflower race? I dont think too many people will be doing both in 2 weekends.
just got in… try now!
Yeah, works. I’m in… 3:46 pacific time.
why so much excitement to enter this race? entry was astonishingly expensive. course is in loops on a tt bike which might not be fun/congested.
If I’m traveling to San Diego to watch the race, might as well make an entire event out of it.
Plus, the novelty of racing on a similar (though not identical) course to the best triathletes in the world is pretty cool.
x2
Hopefully all the big boys (Brownlees, Gomez, Frodo, Russians) will be there. Should be a really fun day all around. Interested to see how the ITU folks put on an age group race. So used to WTC events
Draft legal for AG’ers?
Draft legal for AG’ers?
no, it WILL NOT be draft legal for AGers
.
Is the course described somewhere? Was considering doing this race but couldn’t find much info besides registration.
Thanks
How do you know about the course? Are there maps anywhere?

I’m loathed to say this but I think we’ve reached a time when $140 for a sprint and $195 for an Olympic is not astonishingly expensive. It’s a bit pricey but “the hook” of being there to watch the final Olympic Qualifier certainly carries value. Also, this event will now stand as a Tri Club National Championship and that will add yet another element of hype to the race. It’s funny what happens when you talk about the cost of races: I live in LA so I’ll drive and won’t have a plane ticket factored in but I’ll also spend the night in a hotel after the race to stay and watch the Elite Women race on Sunday so that bumps it up again. This sport aint large yacht racing but it aint chape either.
Course may or may not be loops, the course hasn’t been identified yet. The ITU is seeking a course with bits that have never been permitted for a triathlon before so they are holding off 'til they have absolute confirmation. I’m certain they are trying for 8 laps of 5k for the Elite DL (Draft Legal) race but that would not be the same bike route used for the Age Group ND (Non Draft) course.
