I have a teammate who has moved jobs down to SD and she’s looking to find a bike racing team down there. She lives near Balboa Park (so she’s going to try the track, yea!). She’s a Cat. 4 (close to 3 up upgrade) and probably prefers crits to RRs. Any thoughts on women’s teams (or coed with a women’s contingent) down that way?

sdbc has a development team, and a womens 1/2 team
may be better off making cat 2 then finding a spot on an LA team, slim pickings down here as far as racing teams go, more action up in LA

Like Gtingley said ,she can take her pick. There are many options. Maybe do some local rides meet and talk and find a good fit then join, that will put off the drama till later.

Thanks for the info from both of you. I’ll pass it along. I think she’s already checked out a few rides as she’s just getting settled in with new home/job. When it gets down to more specifics and a couple of teams, I’ll ping Gary.
