Sam McGlone - Better, Stronger, Faster

Seeing some great performances as the season starts made me wonder how Sam is doing in rebounding from her injury. Here’s the post on her blog:

After a 6 month layoff and countless hours of rehab I am happy to announce that I am back in action and training again! Missing Kona last year due to injury was a huge disappointment and I am thrilled to be back ready to race this season. My Achilles problem turned out to be a severe case of Tendinosis (which is by nature an incredibly slowly healing injury) so I am very excited to be back in action so soon. I am starting back on the road to fitness with some riding and a slow build up to full running mileage. I am looking forward to making my return to racing at the Wildflower Long Course Triathlon in May. Wildflower is one of my absolute favourite races and I am chomping at the bit to get back out there and hit that cross-country run course with my new-and-improved Achilles tendons.

Good luck, Sam!

That’s great news! Thanks for posting the update.

wow…her achilles must be doing really well, cause I’d say Wildflower is the last course you want to do with a flakey/questionable/weak achilles.

I hope she dominates the race.
Then, give CW a run for her money in Kona.

Can’t wait to see her race again. Last year in Kona I was in the spotter van with her and Cliff and it was really nice to get them know a bit better.

I think if any two can give CW a run for her money it would be McGlone and Carfrae. Carfrae has talked about racing Kona this year but not how she’s going to qualify. Is she going to be given a slot?
