Salt Lake City

Will be visiting SLC in October for wife’s annual work conference. Anyone have recommendations of things to do? Thanks!

Go for a hike in the Wasatch (sp?) mountains; in October you might have a bit of snow in the upper altitudes, which makes it even more fun. Great hiking though!

Visit Mr. Tibbs

already have an ATV adventure planned for the Wasatch Mtns. Is there a place to rent a mtn bike for the day?

You can rent bikes from Cyclesmith by the Univ. of Utah.

Take your own beer - the alcohol laws there are unbelievable. Most beer is 3.2% and you can’t order more than one without ordering food…

We have many good breweries in Salt Lake and you can buy real beer at all of them and you can have two of them and you dont need private memberships for the bars anymore( you can have 2 twelve ounce beers but not 2 pints) and you can legally brew beer at home now.

race cross!

Hello my name is Dave Benson and I’m an alcoholic.

Take the short drive over to Park City and tour the Olympic Park, free nowadays, unless you want to take the guided tour, well worth it for the price.

Walk up and down Main Street in Park City, it’ll be empty.

If it’s early October, visit Snowbird for Oktoberfest, I’ll post some pics after Sunday when I see thesnail up there, he owes me a cutthroat.

Drive Guardsman Pass over to Park City if you can, colors will be changing.

Drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon to do a few hikes and see some Moose.

Hope this helps.

OT but do you fly fish? Provo can be fantastic.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Check out Snowbird resort. Oktoberfest is going on. If not then take a Tram ride to the top of the mountain and hike/walk down. Very scenic and fun.

Get out on a MTB ride and enjoy the fall colors. Best colors will be in Big Cottonwood, Emigration and City Creek canyons. Spend some time up in Park City on Main street. Go there for dinner and party time.

Go skiing- some resorts open in Oct.

If you’re staying in the down town area: Run City Creek Canyon Drink at Squatter’s Brewery (St. Provo Girl Beer - “I might be from Provo but I’m no angel”) Red Rock Brewery Explore the area via TRAX - light rail Just head west into the mountains

nope - no skiing in Oct. in Utah; most hope to open the weekend of Thanksgiving or the weekend before

'cause if you can’t drink, life would not be worth living. Shake head.

Not the case when I lived there. Brighton was open and you could easily hike and hit some of the lower runs at Alta. Obviously this does not happen every year depending on the weather.

Eat at the Red Iguana! A dive of a place in downtown SLC that has unbelievable Mexican food you will not regret it!
