Salt caked on face

After a hard long ride I always seem to have salt caked on my face as the wind drys my perspiration off. Is this a sign that I need more salt in my hydration or am I getting too much salt and should be taking in more water? My last ride was 5.5 hrs with 3 gatorade and one water to chase a concentrated flask of e-load.
thanks

I get the same thing after a really hard effort. i am a heavy, salty sweater.

I get the same on hard or hot rides. I also get it caked on both my face and shins on hard or hot runs as well. I always took this as a sign that I had enough salt in my system, well probably more than enough.

Same here. Personally I drink more than that on a ride that long and still lose weight from dehydration.

I am a very heavy sweater. However I only get salt streaks when it is in the 90s and humidity is in the 90s or I consume too much salt during a workout/race. Otherwise I just drop a ton of water weight.

Same here, although the deer love me after a long ride
.

This is common. It doesn’t mean anything other than you sweated, the water evaporated and it left the salt behind.

Same here. One thing that I did take notice to was that when filling out the questionnaire on the Infinit site to have them recommend a formula, one of the questions asks how sweaty you get when exerting effort, and if there is crust left behind. Granted I have not ordered infinit yet, I gather that this salt crusting problem is something that can be addressed with a nutrition plan…
