Is there anything out there that will help me rid myself of saddle sores? I use neosporin and a antiseptic wash, ride in clean shorts, etc.
Is there something over the counter or even by prescription?
You have to let them heal completely by staying off the bike. Then you can take steps to prevent them. Antiseptic cream is good. Making sure you’re not rocking in your saddle is a better solution. Some riders shave under there, so that your short hairs are not grinding into your skin. Washing shorts in the washing machine sometimes isn’t good enough. Sunshine is a great antiseptic. Turn your shorts inside out and leave them out in the sun for a few hours after you wash them.
I got rid of a bout of persistent saddle sores once by getting oral antibiotics from the doctor. They were gone in 48 hours.
