I haven’t had these little b@$t@rd$ in several years and lo and behold I get a rash load of them on my groin after riding 6 hours Sunday in new shorts.
My fiancee is now convinced I have the clap and I’ve been cheating on her and shes witholding favors until I get a letter from my doctor saying that these nasty little boils were innocently created.
Anyone ever have a similar experience? Anyone have any advice?
keep area dry
try some over the counter acne cream to heal 'em up
boxers not briefs
some sleep naked to help air dry the area
anti-bacterial soap
dry and re-dry after showering
use chamois creme when riding (assos, or similar).

There’s yer answer. Would you run 2.5-3 hrs in a brand new pair of sneaks? Nope.
Same with bike shorts. (Or a saddle too, or bike shoes, for that matter)
Takes a little while for 'em to break in, and for you to break in to them. Different shorts have different padding (even if they are identical to what you normally ride in, they are new, hence different), and rub ya in different ways because of that.
Start off w/ shorter rides, build up over time, use the tried and true shorts for the long stuff until your other ones are ready to go. Meanwhile, make sure you thoroughly wash and then dry the affected area. Boxers are way better than briefs at this juncture for ya as well. Let the boys dangle and get some air.
Or maybe it’s the clap. And this is all a smokescreen
