Saddle sores (10)

Hello,

I am having some issues with some saddle sores on my new tri bike and an Adamo TT saddle. I’ve been riding my road bike with clip ons the last two years, with an Adamo Road gel saddle. I’ve had absolutely no issues with it but now that I have a dedicated tri bike and switched to an Adamo TT saddle, I’ve developed some saddle sores that have caused me to miss some rides. All my rides have been on the trainer thus far, and to preface this, I’ve yet to get a fit on the bike. It does feel comfortable and I’ve done a rough fit, but nothing professional as of right now, although one is scheduled for the future. Anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to combat these things? I’ve tried tri slide, and I’ve made sure to clean very well, shorts and body immediately after rides. They seem to flair up in the crease of my legs, both sides. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Try the Adamo Road saddle on your tt bike. Perhaps it’s the change in width…

in the crease of your leg makes me think the saddle may be a bit too wide. It could also be a fit issue, or even just the fact that you aren’t getting the “micro” adjustments that you get out on the road (although you shouldn’t be getting saddle sores on the trainer either unless you have drastically upped mileage recently)

Since you’ve already got an Adamo road, I’d suggest trying it out on the TT bike, then try “narrowing” the TT (zip ties… search the forum) and if neither of those work… time for a new saddle. (I think you can guess my preference)
