Saddle Question

I was looking at the Selle San Marco Azoto and Aspide the other day and wondering if that cut out in the back of the Aspide will make any difference in comfort since I spend the majority of my time farther forward. Looking for a new saddle and open to input.

Mr Tibbs can have the stock one off my P2K if he asks nicely.

Since you have risked your ass for us, the least we can do is try to make it more comfortable. I haven’t tried the Aspide. I doubt the cut out the back would make it less comfortable. It is lighter, has less padding and gel than the Azoto.

I do like the Azoto for my tri bike. Very comfortable, but I have never figured out why. I have talked to those who have both who like the Aspide, but wouldn’t use it for a long race in place of the Azoto.

If you can only buy it without trying it, I would go for the Azoto. It is a fairly safe choice since most like it. I don’t like it for a road bike though. Again, I don’t know why but it just isn’t comfortable out of the aero position.

That is what I needed to hear. Thanks.

Why wouldn’t they use the aspide on a long race?

I have talked to a couple of people that think the lack of padding and gel compared to the Azoto makes it too uncomfortable for a long race. You are getting this third hand from me though. Hopefully someone on the board will offer their opinions right from the horse’s, uh, mouth.
