Saddle bag that works with P2C/P3C seatpost

Is there a saddlebag that mounts nicely under the seat with the P2C/P3C seatpost??

The big knob (rear position) of the P2C/P3C seatpost makes it impossible to mount a saddlebag from the seat rails when the seat is in a really forward position. I have the 2006 model seatpost that does not have the 2 extra holes.

It would be ideal if there was a saddlebag solution that utilized the rear position hole (big knob) in the seatpost.

Another drastic solution would be to cut out the rear postion hole in the seatpost to allow space to mount a normal saddlebag from the seat rails.

I want to mount a small saddlebag. Big enough for 1 x inner tube, 1 x tire lever, co2 inflator.

Hoping ST wisdom can help out here.

No one solved this problem? :frowning:

Cut the back hole off and really any small bag will work. Use some extra velcro around the front to hold that loop.

What about vertical? The velcro that normally hooks on to the seat post goes on the seat rail or somehow hook onto the rear hole, and the velcro that goes usually on the seat rail, goes around the seat post.

This is a bad picture and I have since gone to a Bento box, but here you go.

As pictured it is hard to get to the contents but it works and it fit between the two bottle cages fine.

Thanks Hamner and auto208562 - that name just rolls of the tongue doesn’t it

A pretty drastic solution cutting the seatpost with a hacksaw but it may be the best solution if I cannot connect a bag virtical as auto208562 mentions.

you could always use a small water bottle to hold anything you would normally have in a saddle bag and carry it either in a behind the seat or frame cage.

Then you do away with the saddle bag.

I’ve got a very small Vittoria bag that fitst perfectly right under the saddle. Not sure what the model name is but it was the smallest on in their range in my bike shop. I can fit in an inner tube, tyre levers, minitool and 2 C02 bottles in it. Tried the spares in a bottle approach but got sick of bottle launching on bumpy roads, plus I prefer not use behind the seat bottles anyway.

black sock and two velcro straps. If you want it waterproof zipp lock bag inside sock. works perfectly well.
