Tell me what saddle I want for my new P3C.
The one (two?) and only - Arione or Arione Tri.
I love my Koobi tri. If you don’t, you can return itw/in 30 days for a full refund.
Selle Italia SLR T1, still comfy after several 100 mile rides. Plus, lighter than all of the other “tri” saddles.
“You know you are getting old when you see your father in the mirror.” anon.
Selle Italia SLR. Not T1 or XP, just the lean simple one.
Very comfortable, and make the bike very sleek and aggressive. If you are fitted correctly you would not be seating on the nose anyway. the T1 looks ugly in comparison.
I have used it for over a year on my road bike and TT bikes.
I’ll sencond the SLR call, 135g and as comfortable as anything else out there. If you want some more padding for an IM, get a regular Flite.
Comfort isn’t in the padding, it’s in the fit.
The Profile Tri-Stryke Saddle for me. Big cushy nose and cutout make this the best saddle that I’ve tried to date. And it’s cheap, too!
I have experimented with Terry, Specialized body geometry, Prolink Transam with the cut out. Recently though I came accross the most comfortable saddle yet a Flite saddle I bought on ebay for $23.
I third the regular SLR. I use mine with a DeSoto pad and it’s great. I think the best features for me are its flatness and width. Although it doesn’t look wide at a glance, it “seems” wider than other saddles to me because it is so flat. While another saddle may appear to be very wide from a top view, they are often very round shaped and drop off very quickly (from the centerline of the saddle). The SLR makes very good use of the width it has because it doesn’t slope and drop away on the edges so much.
You could always read the main page article about “tri bike specs” that has been posted today…has some great examples for you…
