Very sad news from Elden Nelson (Fat Cyclist)'s blog. His wife, Susan, passed on last night after a long battle with cancer.
My deepest condolences to him and his family.

Sad news about Susan, but I am confused. So it is OK to mention other blogs here on Slowtwitch? I was under the impression that it was not.
That is terribly sad. Prayers and best wishes to the family. I hope they understand that the many people who read this share in a small way their greif. Perhaps there is some comfort in that.

I think there’s a pretty obvious difference between mentioning this (Susan’s passing) and when people redirect folks to their own blogs with posts like “Hey check out XYZ… by reading my blog about it!”
Very sad.
My thoughts are with Elden and his family.

While very clearly sad, it’s almost a relief to see all parties freed from this. They fought a very good fight, and left no stone unturned.
