Darn… I really wished they would survive through the rumors…
Really wanted to try their wheels but now it’s a no-no without the warranties for the carbon spokes…

clicked on here thinking you meant the poster ‘madfiber’, not the actual wheels!
I have always been a bit ‘meh’ to madfiber wheels, but noone likes to see bankruptcy.
I did a 50 mile ride on their carbon clinchers one day and didn’t really like them near as much as I thought I would. They were nice and light and plenty stiff. But it was a day with 15 mph winds and they seemed to be affected by it a lot. I was on my road bike and I ride Zipp 404s and Enve 6.7s on my other bikes with little issue no matter what the winds, but these were a little unnerving. Also, they sounded really wierd. I think it was the way the carbon hub shell magnified the sound of the bearings, or some such thing, but for me, it was like fingernails being lightly dragged across a blackboard – sort of a raspy sound. Not pleasant at all. Didn’t come away with the impression that they were particularly fast, either. My impressions were more negative than positive. Not that it matters now.
