Has anyone given both the Garmin 310xt and the Polar s725x a run?
What are the preferences out there?
I am debating between the two of them for run/bike and would like to see what others think.
Thanks,
Clint

I’ve had a Polar 625x and Garmin 405; and just recently picked up the 310xt.
So far I prefer the 310xt to both. The form factor is not that bad and sits squarely on your wrist (no pun intended). The buttons are 1,000x better than the touch bezel of the 405 which failed 99.9% of the time while training or racing (unless you lock it, but than kinda defeats all the functions on the watch). I like the screen size…easy to read and the ability to switch between run, bike 1, bike2, bike 3 or other is fast and easy. It also has a multisport function for racing which I have not used, yet. Overall the 310xt is a surprising upgrade to the previous watches.
I was also able to use a 25% discount coupon at Road Runner Sports for the 310xt which helped out.

I love the sound of 25% discount - was that VIP or is it possible for someone to get that same discount as I’m quite interested in this.
Cheers,
Clint
It was a VIP discount. They sent out a mailer in August with a 25% coupon…in the catalog mailer it stated that the coupon was good for the watches, however the store tried to state that they changed their policy. After a few minutes of discussion and pointing out the fact that the mailer clearly stated in print that the coupon could be used the manager agreed to allowing the 25% discount.
