S-bends revisited

Will the HED s-bends work with the Profile Carbon X base bar? I’m not betting on Profile to come out with their s-bend anytime soon. In regards to the HED s-bends in reason to go carbon over the aluminum other than weight savings? Thanks.

I suppose it depends on the diameter of the S bends and what the base bar will allow? I have the carbon bends and think that it might be a tad too large.

Try it with a micrometer to check but I think they should be ok.

I don’t know about the Hed S-bends but the Oval Concept s-bends work.

Yes they will … I have them on my Carbon-X right now and really like them much better than the traditional extensions.

I have Carbon X with some one off Ti S-bends…much better than the new Profile ones (IMO) - and Profile rocks…they are a great company.

has anyone just tried sawing off the ends of the aerobars that come with the cervelo (syntach-sp?) and having the straight bar bent using a pipefitter jig. a whole lot cheaper

I have tried both s-bend and straight no-bend. Be careful about what you change to- I found that I could not hold on to the s-bend extensions in a comfortable manner. When I gripped them, my elbows wanted to splay out more than usual. I tried angling them several different ways and they simply did not work for me. Straight extensions worked better, but the wrist angle causes forearm discomfort and fatigue (for me). I was better off on the same old single bend extensions that I started with.

Sometime you make changes to improve your position and it actually gets worse.

If the oval concepts work, so will the HEDs. Most aerobar manufactures make their extensions 22.2mm. I have HED’s in my profile jammers at the moment
