Looks pretty tight at the moment. American team will have loved putting a big win over Poulter after his heroics last time, but that’s a bit of a drubbing for Watson and Simpson. Europeans up in 3 of the 4 afternoon games, but none of them have a decisive lead.
Haven’t seen any of it, but it’s definitely a good sign that Spieth and Reed took down Poulter/Gallacher so convincingly. And Bradley/Michelson continues to be a phenomenal pairing, Sergio is generally nails in the Ryder Cup and Rory is the best player in the world. Big loss for Watson/Simpson but to me Bubba’s always so volatile that a big loss could easily be a big win next time out.
The Walker/Fowler pairing against Rory/Sergio is huge. I’ve heard that Fowler and Walker played together earlier this year and immediately gelled, if they can take down the big Euro guns I think the US will go into the weekend at the worst tied and perhaps up a point.
Looking like McIlroy and Garcia are going to lose again, that’s going to cause a bit of concern. Maybe they both need pairing with a steadier partner? Europe on track to win the afternoon session 3-1 overall though

Last time Europe was up on the US at the end of Friday they basically doubled up the Americans, somethign like 18.5 to 9.5. I’m not sure if the recent trend of the US dominating Friday and Europe killing it on Sunday is anything but coincidence, but if it’s not (and I suspect it’s not, the Sunday format favors the deeper, more consistent roster and Europe has had that in spades for a long time) then you’re probably right, this is gonna be a bloodbath.
