Running is cool. Running fast is really cool. Ryan Hall is very cool.

Thank you for that link! I really like Ryan Hall and I love his dedication to the Lord. I’ve only gotten to experience fully what he’s talking about once on a training run and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I’m very thankful for that experience and the reminder of it that this video provided.

Awesome

dude is fast, but I could really do without the religious stuff…

+1…

I agree, but maybe the fastest runners in the world are onto something.

Haile frequently mentions his faith in God as giving him strength, and without it, he has nothing.

I got chills…really good look at ‘expecting success’

Does it bother you when Mark Allen talks about his Shaman or respecting the Hawaiin gods that he thinks affect his race? It might and if so I definitely understand this bothering you as well, but otherwise I guess I don’t get the delineation.

Awesome video, awesome guy, awesome God. Truly inspiring!

I guess I’ve never watched him run before, but his mechanics seem stiff in the upper body. Not as much arm swing as I’d expect and this results in shoulder rotation which would seem to use more core musculature than necessary.

I appreciate the video! Thanks.

I agree and I thought the same thing. But then I immediately thought “He’s Ryan Hall, and I suck at running” and forgot about it ;^)

I am with you!

Me too. It was funny how quick I was to start thinking of what he needed to fix in his form and then I was like “This guy runs 8 mile training runs faster than I can do 800s, maybe I should just keep my ingenious running advice to myself”

The kid is wicked fast! I got the feeling he’s going to have a great race on Monday.

I don’t care for the churchy stuff but it clearly motivates him. If it gives him strength - great. When it gets preachy - I go to the mute button. He’s got a right to tell people what he thinks – and I’ve got the right to push mute. To each his own.

He looks pretty damn fit right now. He and his wife combined must weigh less than a buck fifty.
Here’s to great races for both he and Kara Goucher.

An excellent point and thank you for making it.

god rocks!!!

I agree but let’s try to stay on topic ;^)

If anyone is offend they need to get a grip. That man is bad ass!

I read an article a while back regarding this. His dad taught him to run like that from the beginning. Initially he wanted to run with high arms as everyone else, but they (him & his dad) tested it using a HRM and found that he can keep his HR lower at race pace by lowering his arms to his sides. It was an interesting article either way.
