I have a ruptured rectus femoris at the distal end of the rectus femoris (RF) muscle at the myotendinous junction. Can anyone recommend a surgeon who has experience with this type of surgery? Have the results been satisfactory?

just curious, how was this diagnosed?
It was diagnosed with MRI imaging, however, the MRI was taken 3 months after the rupture occurred. Doctors seem to be hesitant to do the repair.
What were the symptoms?

Location? How long ago did this occur? Do you have a functional deficit(weakness, gait abnormality)?
It was ruptured in May. I did not realize the severity of the problem, it was painful, but I thought it just needed time to heal. The pain did diminish, but there was a noticeable lump in the upper middle of my thigh with a concave area below it. In August the pain started getting worse, it would throb and interfere with my sleep. Flexibility was affected. I started having foot pain and my gait was also affected. There has been a loss of strength in that leg since the accident and it occasionally buckles.
I decided to consult a doctor and he ordered an MRI at that time. I have seen two other doctors since then. Two of the doctors told me that the rectus femoris is an unimportant muscle and they said that I will not notice the loss. I worry, however, that this is not the case because of the problems I am now having.
