Just finished in Brussels. Rupp 3rd in new AR.

Universal supposed to show tonight at 9 EDT.

So what’d the first 2 guys run, how close was he?

Wow!!! First he wins Ironman Canada and then he… oh, hang on a minute… Rupp. Never mind.

Kenny B comes back from DNF in Daegu to win in 26:43. So 5 secs back.

Is that fast…?

For an american…Yes.
For a Kenyan… no.

screw that… 26:48 is like top 20 all time.

Sub 27 is world class no matter your country of origin.

The fastest anyone has run in the last 5 years in the 10k before today was Mo Farah’s 26:46 earlier this year. *This is wrong - my sources failed me

4:18 per mile…

yup, you get it.

I just looked. Ruppy’s 10K is the top 15th fastest time EVER RUN IN THE WORLD ALL TIME. Including the Africans.

Kenny B’s time run today is the fastest 10K run in the world this year, which make Galen’s time the 4th fastest run in the world this year right behind Farah, his training partner and current world 10K champion.

It’s probably also worth noting that Rupp has demonstrated incredible closing speed. He really could content at next years olympics. He just needs to show he has the guts of his UO compatriot Matt Centrowitz.

Yeah, a 51 400 would be rather sick and enough to medal and give Kenny a run for it.

For an american…Yes.
For a Kenyan… no.

Fail.

Do your homework before making yourself look like a jackass:

Er, I hate to criticise Rupp after a huge race and breakthrough, but his closing speed is where he needs work. He definately has gotten better, but in the WC and in this race he was in the lead or next to the leader until the last lap or half lap. The 2 guys in front of Rupp ran the last lap about 5 seconds faster than he did.

What are you contesting - the 5 years comment? His comment about it being a top 20 time is true according to that link and Mo Farah running the fastest 10K in the last 5 years seems to need be corrected to the last 4 years…why the vitriol?

I am excited to see American Distance running making a return, between Solinsky and Rupp we might honestly have a medal chance! I’m excited to see people like them and Jenny Simpson(formerly Barringer) bringing medals home.

"The fastest anyone has run in the last 5 years in the 10k before today was Mo Farah’s 26:46 earlier this year. "

I don’t think that’s correct (don’t get me wrong though, his performance is absolutely amazing!).

What? I replied to Timbo:

For an american…Yes.
For a Kenyan… no.

The baseless dismissal of Rupp’s performance was uncalled for, therefore the designation of “jackass” was required.

(Edit: to get quotes in the right spot)

Ahhh, I see my error. I was looking at the top 20 times. There are no repeat athletes on that list.

26:17! are you kidding me? How in the world! I couldn’t even imagine that. I’m not so happy with my training run interval times anymore.
