Pretty impressive fellow: raising money for wheelchairs for the poor:

I love my barefoot runs for easy days (and I absolutely believe they have helped my shod running) but I have never been barefooting in the snow. Something to aspire to HTFU to…

And for a great cause no less.

getting frostbite on your feet yet continue to run barefoot in the snow. lol, got to love the delusional people.

despite his insanity/stupidity, at least hes not trying to convince other people. hes just having a good time.

it makes me want to htfu when its snowing outside and i dont want to run.

Apparently it works ok as long as he keeps moving.

What happens when he lands his heel on a pebble? Ouch!

you don’t heel strike when you run barefoot

comes naturally, try it =)

Yes, but you either land neutral or with the heel coming to within 2-3 millimeters of the ground. So you land with your heel over a 10mm high stone and it’s going to contact your heel.

If you are an experienced barefoot runner hasn’t this happened to you? Or after a while do you toughen up to the point that it no longer hurts?

Why the gloves and wool cap?

I only did it once when I forget to bring my shoes to a brick workout. Gravel path, stones everywhere, never hurt my heal

Got some nasty blisters on my forefoot though!

I think you tend to watch where you are placing your feet more.

I really think there is value in barefoot running and plan to do so this year, but only on the track.

I used to run barefoot - did it for two years in college.

you do pay a lot more attention to foot placement & strike… and after a few runs your whole foot hardens up to the point of being able to take most small stuff and gravel without even noticing it.

I just wear minimalist shoes a lot of the time. Nike frees, etc

I love this guy on so many levels. Great guy.

Here’s a good option
