I need to find that group.
I hate running with other people. Well actually what I meant was I hate running! ![]()
Seriously I rather suffer in peace
I’m sure your wife has nothing to do with that!
you have never had the experience of being chased for an entire IM with an entire year’s bragging rights on the line, have you! This happened to me twice, not only did I have to worry about my condition but how far she was behind, how much faster was she running, how much breathing room did I have and what pace would I need to sustain to hold her off!
As long as you NEVER stop to use the can, you should be good. Although I think her bike speed has improved relative to yours since you two beame roadies… Not good when she’s narrowing the gap on your strength!
I love riding with people and I love running alone!
It’s one thing I really look forward to, my Sunday runs, ALONE!! ![]()
Andypants we certainly could incorporate that into the post run Sunday routine. I certainly could have used a stiff drink to numb my back pain.
Oh yeah. What goes with poached eggs though? Guinness? ![]()
Guiness goes with everything. ![]()
For Strength!

A ceaser would have done the trick too! (Extra spicey of course!)
BLECH! Sorry can’t stand them. Maybe champers & OJ.
On the last day of the clinic, we should go hit the Elbow Room cafe and have mimosas with our brunch ![]()
My preference is to do my longer rides alone and shorter rides/runs with my wife. We took one of the clinics last year (and will take a longer one this year) but found ourselves running at our own pace anyway. The clinic was good though, to add structure and some commitment (this doesn’t seem to be a problem for you) to go longer.
Good Luck. Have fun. Go far

I hate running in groups. A group run is almost never the pace I want and thus don’t have the workout I need. Only once have I found a running partner with whom I meshed and we ran long runs together nearly every weekend one winter/spring when he convinced me to run Boston in '04. We ran the same pace, were about equally strong up to three hours and had a lot in common about which we could converse. Now he is on the other side of the country and I run alone. I don’t mind; it is my personal time.
