Some folks here in Chattanooga have been organizing a running stage race with 5 runs in 4 days for the last few years, but every year I was out of town for Eurobike and could not do it. This year though I had no excuse so I decided to partake in this event. I also thought that this could nicely jump start a heavier running schedule over the winter.
Here is the schedule:
Wednesday pm: 10k run
Thursday am: 5k run
Thursday pm: 15 k run
Friday pm: 8k hill climb
Saturday am: 21km hard trail run (Big Daddy)
Funny and very odd thing last night was that a Kenyan showed up to run “with us.” He had just won last weekends quite hilly 10km in 35 minutes and last night he let us off the hook easy with a 37 minute run. It was actually super hot and muggy and I very much stank on the second half of the 10k and brought it home in 45:12. Yikes
This morning though I redeemed myself and ran a 20 flat for the 5k. But now my legs are not too excited about tonight’s 15k.
Any other towns have similar fun renegade events like that?
