Anyone looked at Fredrik Zillen’s videos on running?
I heard about him yesterday and watched a couple of his YouTube videos.
He has an interesting way of looking at running technique.
I do enjoy a good simile/metaphor
"Kipchoge ran 2:01:39, or a staggering 4:38 per mile. If you are like me, you have never run a single mile that fast. If you are like me, then by comparison, Kipchoge runs like a cheetah, and you run like a lion. A sea lion."
“All the grace and agility of a charging rhinoceros”
“I dance like a drunken monkey with two broken ankles”
I’ll look for his work, thanks
This thread came into my head a couple miles out from the finish of my run today (9/21), so - out of curiosity - I kinda let my arms wave around (but careful not to let go of my keys in my hand)
I did find that everything loosened up and felt a little more effortless, but for whatever reason, I couldn’t sustain it
Oh well
“Set your gearshift for the High Gear of your Soul
You gotta run like an antelope, out of control”
Fredrik is a genius and helped my form alot just watching his free videos
As I was running this morning, a thought came into my head
‘Don’t octopus curl up when the die?’
Nope. Only do that when you cook them, which is the only way I’ve seen them, other than at the aquarium
Funny thread title. I never would have made that analogy but I can definitely relate. I have watched a few of his videos and I have to say, they have helped. I’m still a long way off from where I want to be but no question, I’m better now having watched them.
