Running in Kirkland, WA (1)

I will be in Kirkland, WA for a couple of days later this month and am looking for a new running route. In the past I have run on the Burke-Gilman trail as well as the Samamish trail (I usually drive the 5 or so miles from downtown Kirkland up to that parking lot near the golf course).

What other options are available? Could be a some nice roads or other trail options.

Thanks in advance.

David

Any comments on the Kirk Park Pool in Kirkland?

Bridle Trails is a great place to run. just watch out for horses and the presents they leave.

There is a gravel trail that is just below East Lake Sammamish Blvd. Its about 10 miles long and flat. Pretty close to where you’ve driven previously.

I don’t know if the Kirkland pool is public for open swims. Its seems there is either a swim meet or its closed.

Another option if you don’t mind driving across the lake is to run lake washington blvd. South. Its one of my favorite runs as its along the lake. Just plug in the address of Triumph multisport into a NAV and run from there heading south along the lake. Just look at bridge traffic before you do this.

I’m on travel in Bellevue this week. Did a little 6 miler from my hotel tonight. It is beautiful here. The loop I did went along the lake for a bit and had some serious hills. If you do any distance, expect to encounter some hills. I loved it! Check out map my run . com or garmin connect . com, I’m sure you’ll find some good loops there. I only wish I had more time so I could rent a bike. This area would be fantastic to train in everyday.

Bridle Trails is great if it is dry but St. Ed State Park is my favorite place to run trails.
