I just got a pair, have only had them on the bike on the road a couple times- mostly trainer miles so far… My only concern would be nip chafing.
I havent run in them yet- but it seems like it might be an issue- for me at least.
If you’re good in that department, i dont see why not. I’ve done sprints in Performance Ultra shorts a few times. As long as they fit correctly, the chamois should be a non-issue.
I agree with the poster above who commented about nip chaffing though. I try to always wear a shirt under the bib as I even worry about that on the bike.
Emilio De Soto here. I can make it as simple as to say, buy the bib, and use it. if you do not think it is the best bib you have worn, you can return it for a complete refund. This guarantee applies at any of our dealers or from our website.
for olympic distance i would suggest the Riviera Trishort, the pad is a triathlon version of the 400 mile pad. not as thick, not a big, but still buoyant and you will not feel it at all.
Now, I am more confused than usual. Is the 400 mile bike short meant for triathlons? or is it meant for long bike rides? or both but is bulkier than would be recommended for an Oly or a sprint tri?
I recently started riding my tri bike with the 400 mile shorts (not bib) and was contemplating wearing them for a sprint tri this weekend instead of my usual tri shorts which have less padding and make riding aero less comfortable .

It is a bike short that can now we worn in triathlons if you want a lot of padding. the pad floats, but as far as the distance to use it in, that is completely up to you!
