Running analysis $$$

Has anybody had a recent running analysis performed lately? What is the going rate? 50-100$… Im looking at giving a video analysis, g/t deviations, and exercises to correct inefficienies…

Locally we have a physio that does 3d gait analysis with a fancy dancy machine. It is essentially 2 physio sessions (so $160? total), one to do the filming etc… the second to explain the results. It is quite popular, but then again it also counts as a physio session, so is often covered.

I like that physio guy but I have another person I see. She usually does a small gait session once a year as we work on various issues. It is included in my physio session.

Question. So I am in my mid fifties and have run for years. My body has adapted to all the imbalances, length discrepincies over years and years. If you videoed me, and I showed imbalances, you would change my gait? If so, giving me exercises for a couple months would correct muscle adaptions for years?
Not trying to be a smart ass, just truly curious.

Even though most of our movements are “automatic” or “muscle memory” (which is a misnomer, the memory is not in the muscles, but in the brainstem, cerebellum, basal ganglia, and spinal cord), the old neocortex (as in “brain”) can still override. So if you consciously are aware of what the issues are, and consciously think about altering the movement, you can re-train and move more efficiently. That is what I did with my swimming, after doing it “automatically” from childhood muscle memory for 30 years, and I am a faster swimmer now and better technique than I was when I was competitively swimming as a kid.

The old brain CAN learn new tricks.

Not talking about the brain, but, trying to retrain a body that has been conditioned years upon years of running a certain way. The ligaments, bones, connecting tissue everything that you total body has done and developed to compensate for discrepincies.
About twelve years ago, I had an analysis done. Was told I was out of balance. Need to do certain things to be more effecient ect…It set up a 6 month time of the only injuries I had my entire life. When I said screw it, I have run uninjured for another 12 years including 6 IM and Ultra’s.
For example, my on leg is longer and my run more duck footed on one side. My body naturally compensated and developed to run like that for forty years. To try to change that was a mistake. If you look at some analysis fro top marathoners, foot strike for example is all over the place. Some pronate others don’t. …my “Opinion” is trying to make someone run perfect is a mistake because their body is not perfect. …Now, if you are talking about taking a 15 year old kid and correcting things early, ok.
