Runnervals Review

I posted some questions on Runnervals a few months back and no one responded, so now that I tried one tape, I thought I’d let everyone know how it went. I really liked it. I am not a veteran runner (only two years), and I don;t have anyone around to run with, so this gave me a good workout and good pacing. I did tape #1, and it was kind of tough. You can make it tougher if you want but I think anyone that has done a 5 or 10K should go with tape #2. The workout is about 40 mins long and it is challenging. Coach Troy does a good job, and I will be using it 2-3 times a week. It was good interval training, and I would recommened it. It can be modified from the brand new runner up to an intermediate runner depending on how fast you make your base pace. If anyone has any questions, I will try to answer them. Enjoy you days.

i guess the obvious problem is that you need to have a treadmill at home or a vcr at the gym. i wonder how many tapes troy sells - it doesn’t seem like a huge market. at least compated to spinervals.

I emailed the company a while back suggesting that they put their runnervals out on mp3. I would buy that in a red hot minute. Screw videos, dvds, or even a cassette tape/cd for runnervals. Mp3’s are the most useful format.

There are no dumb questions, right… well maybe this one.

Can you put one of those CD’s into a portable CE player and listen to it (audio only). Or are they two entirely different beasts.

I got mine on VHS because they were out of DVD’s. But I would tend to think that is entirely two seperate beasts. CD vs. DVD. I may be wrong though. I can;t see these things having the highest technology as they have semi-low production values.

DVD’s have a different focusable wavelength than CD’s. The only CD player that can play a DVD is a DVD player. Kind of defeats the purpose. I am a multimedia guru / DVD authorer by trade, and would be more than willing to take any of the files (from VHS or DVD) and convert them to Mp3, or CD; as long as we can get permission from the creators. I’d do it for free, just to help them get their product out in a better format. Anybody know anyone that works there?
