Anyone know of good spots to run and bike in Osage Beach Missouri? 2 hour ride on Saturday, 1 1/2 hour run Sunday.
A good pool to swim at would be nice as well, if anyone knows of that as well!
Thanks!

I was just there on holiday for 5 days and had my bike. Here’s my take on it. Cycling is dangerous due to high boat traffic and no shoulders on most roads. Drive over to Lake Ozarks State Park (off 42) and start there. Very hilly, nice roads, and no traffic. Looking at the park map, most roads are like fingers on a hand, do the out and backs. You can easily get 25m in. I did this several times while i was there. For swimming, I snuck into Tan-Tar resort and found a pool that was approx 20m long and did laps there. You could also swim in one of the lake coves too. Running around Tan-Tar resort is great training with all the hills. Have fun.
I live just a little bit outside of the Osage Beach city limits, in the Hawk Island Estates subdivision not far off of State Route KK. Tan-Tar-A is a couple hundred yards away by water. Unfortunately, I’ll be tied up with the Shootout next weekend, so I probably won’t be able to accompany you on a ride or run, or even an open-water swim, which I do right from my lakefront house. But, who knows?
There are plenty of places to ride and run around here. Since the Lake area is pretty big and diverse, you might want to pick some places close to where you’re staying.
Rather than talking about places to run and ride here on ST, just e-mail me directly and tell me where you’ll be staying: jim at gojim.tv
In the meantime, check out the website I maintain to help keep my fellow local athletes informed as to what’s going on locally: www.gojim.tv
There’s a page on the website addressing where to run. The page regarding road cycling is under construction. You might want to look at www.mapmyrun.com and mapmyride.com as well.
Better bring your hill-climbing legs! ![]()
