…not me, but my friend and occasional nutrition pimp Brian Shea.
Brian’s the owner/CEO of Personal Best Nurition as well as a 9hr Kona vet and all around nice guy.
I thought his new adventure was worth mentioning.
On Aug 24,25 and 26, he’s doing the 150 Mile Run for Autism in Point Pleasant , New Jersey. 150 miles in 3 days.
I’ve been tracking his training on his site’s forum. Here’s an example of where he’s at…
" 35 miler this past Saturday, followed by 26.2 on Sunday. Ran a 3:34 keep my hr at ~133 bpm. "
Man, I’d give my left nut, as well as my dog’s to run a 3:34 mary let alone one preceded by a 35 miler the day before.
Its amazing what the human body and spirit are capable of. Stop by his forum and check it out. Good info there as well as some tips for pre-run nutrition cocktails.
Thanks a lot - it’s been an interesting training cycle getting ready for this. This past weekend served a nice confidence boost getting in 35+ on Saturday in some oppressive heat and a nice 26.2 on Sunday.
FYI - If anyone will happen to be in the Point Pleasant Beach, NJ area the weekend of Aug 24-26, it would be great if you could attend and support a fantastic cause (you don’t have to run 150 miles!). Registration is on Active.com w/ 100% of the proceeds going to charity:
