Any one out there wear rudy project? Which is the model to get for triathlon?
I won 2 pair of RP Ekynox at 2 different races last year. Gave one pair to a a fellow ST’er. I used them in one race. They are a little big for my face, but they work fine.
I like the Ekynox because they come up high enough you’re not looking over the top of them when riding. They’re kind of big though so if you have a smaller face get the small version.
I have used the Rydon model for a few years now and love them for tris. They are very light, have changeable lenses and cover the eyes well for riding.
I use these with contact lenses and have had no problem protecting my eyes from breezes drying out my lenses and such. Super light so you don’t even feel them on the run…and with the super adjustable nose pieces and temples even someone built as lopsided as me can get a great fit…
Strictly personal endorsement…no business relationships to disclose!

I second the Rydons. My eyes dry out really quickly, and these have really helped stop breezes from hitting the eye. Plus, they’re light, and they don’t slip off, even when wet.
I have both the kerosene and the keytum…
I like them both, but I like the keytum’s a little better. The keytums ride a little higher therefore when in the aero position the frame doesn’t block any sight lines… also, the open lens design really keeps them from fogging up in almost all conditions… Wheras the Kerosene, even with the ability to adjust the lense to add a little hole between the lense and the frame to allow more air in or escape seems to fog up on my on occasion.
I also like Rudy Project’s lens replacement policy… Return old lenses and recieve new set for $7.00 and $5.00 for each additional set when mailed in together.
Another vote for the Rydon’s
I have pair and love them! I also have a set of yellow lenses in the mail for overcast/rainy days being a contact lens wearer. Good points made about the grippy, adjustable nose piece.
As far as sizing… I notice the Rydon’s look good on a wide array of face types. I wouldn’t go with the Rydon SX (small face) version unless you have a really, really small face, as the extra coverage on the Rydons is very helpful.
I also have a pair of Ekynox SX’s in the mail for triathlons and casual wearing.
note: i’m sponsored by these guys and proud of it because they make such a great product
Personally I prefer the Wizaard’s but I also like the Ekynox and if you have a smaller face you might like the Ekynox SX or Graal.
You can find a dealer near you to try them on at: www.rudyprojectusa.com Look under the “dealer locator” tab.
I have a pair of the Ekynox SX. really comfortable I have a long, narrow face. I have no complaints.

i LOVE my rudy projects…a pair of silver/blue “Metys” with RX lenses,
i have a very large (hat size 8.5) head, so i don’t know if that might slip off/move around on some one with a smaller head
and rudy project’s customer service (Omar) is great…about a year after i got them the coating randomly started coming off one of the lenses and they took them back and replaced the lenses even though the warranty had expired
can’t go wrong with Rudys…
i have no relationship except as an extremely happy customer
I have the Ekynox SX and two pair of Kerosenes. They are great glasses but I tend to favor the former a little more. I have not had any fogging issues with either but I did have fogging issues with a pair of Graals which are now relegated to wearing about town.
IF you are interested in a pair of yellow framed Kerosenes PM me and let me know. I’m not sure why I bought them, I’ve only worn them 2 times. They have racing red, clear, smoke and yellow lenses. I’d be happy to strike a deal for them.
AS others have stated, the lens replacement guarantee is excellent. Overall customer service has been top notch in my experience. I returned a pair of glasses and got a letter from the manager of the returns dept. saying to call her directly with any issues in the future for even speedier resolution. Nice touch.
I’ve been using Kerosenes for a little over a year now. They are very adjustable and don’t move around at all. They are very light and comfortable, and I forget I have them on. Highly recommended - no affiliation to company.
I like the Freeons for racing, thats what i’ve been using
.
I’ve got a narrow face and the Rydons work well for me. I’d second eastcoasttri’s comment that the Rydon SX’s are really small. I thought they were too small, even for my skinny face.
Best advice is to try different ones on.

Second the vote for Freeons. I race and train in mine. Love 'em.
I have the Moove… 30 bucks from Performance bike and came with 3 lenses… I like 'em ok… certainly $30 worth. I use the other lenses often enough on less-than-sunny days.
still… nothing beats the origional EyeJackets from Oakley
