Just got a new helmet and, according to the manula and Rudy Project’s Italian website, there is a place to snap in a lens/shield. Problem is, where do I get it? The US distributor seems to know nothing about it and I have not received a response to my email to Italy (maybe they’re still translating).
Anyone?
And I’m not talking about the stupid plastic snap on visor, the US idiots kept insisting I was.
calling all reps and retailers…
SuperDave, Tom, Chris?
which model helmet do you have?
The Ayron.
I like it a lot (so far, I’ve had it all of two days).
as far as I know the only RP helmet that comes with, or that you can put a face shield on is hte Syton Super Comp. Maybe you got a generic manual that is referring to the face shield for the Syton Comp? I don’t see any place to install the face shield on an Ayron. You could possibly try to order a spare face shield for the Syton Comp and see if you can install it on the Ayron.
There’s a small slot in the front of the helmet, and the manual, unless I’m reading it wrong, shows a picture of the Ayron
Thanks for the response, it’s nice the the distributor seems to know squat.
For my two cents, I have an Ayron too. It fits quite well, which is of prime importance. My favorite helmet is still the Pneumo though, it fits so well and looks great. I haven’t tried the Atomos yet, my wallet isn’t that deep for a helmet.
With the Ayron, you get more accessories than Giro provides with a basic helmet purchase - storage bag (pretty nice, although I don’t use it. use it for socks or something…), two different mesh inserts, detachable sun visor.
Are you sure you want the lens insert thing? It means that if you take your helmet off, you suddenly have no sunglasses… Wouldn’t real sunglasses hug your face better anyway?
