Rotor Qxl

hi ,

Anyone using QXL ring ?The new one of the inner ring is 41. Is it the same feeling when you riding 39( I m using Qring 53/39) ?

Thank you.

Yes, sort of.
I had a QXL set on, have now switched back to the Q-rings as the QXL caused tearing of my quad muscles.
But before I had a 41 inner on, I did a race with a significant amount of climbing (a day in the lakes, UK), and noticed no difference between that and the 39 on my training bike. The QXLs excel in low inertia states (hill climbing) but for me they transitioned through the deadspot too fast, causing my quads to try and slow them down, this caused tearing due to the eccentric load.

If you are worried about the 41 you can swap it out for a regular 39 tooth q-ring. Otherwise, the compact version QXL set (110BCD) comes in a 53/38 combo. Or you can just use a round ring too.

Competitive cyclist actually sells the inner & outer separately so you could mix and match if buying from there if buying new.

Can’t say I can tell the difference between the 41 inner and a regular round 39 but I also run an 11-28 cassette to compensate too on my Tri bike.
