It’s not short. It’s not flat. It is fast.
The swim is in a canal. Cool temperature, no current and overpasses to guage your progress. Fans line the banks and pack the overpasses cheering.
Despite what most think, the bike course has 3 significant hills…6 since you do the loop twice. But they’re the easiest part of the course because they’re packed with thousands of screaming fans that cheer for each and every rider. For the most part, a fast, rolling course through forests, farm fields and villages.
The run is nearly flat except for a gradual hill between 25-35km (probably wouldn’t count as a hill except for were it occurs in the course). The course is primarily on a soft trail along the canal with a decent amount of shade. Again, thousands of fans who think that you personally are the greatest.
Few people have done the race that didn’t think it had the best fans in any sport.
