Wondering if they make a difference or are worth the $40. Thanks.
Yes.

They look cool and now you have a place for your USAT sticker.

They will reduce wind noise when travelling on the highway.
Unbelievable difference in wind noise. Definitely worth it.
Agree on both parts.
Significantly less wind noise-- even without stickers.
any fairings you know of without the giant “YAKIMA” logo?
Where else are you going to put your free BodyZen stickers?
I have the Yakima faring. I just flipped it around so that you don’t have the huge Yakima advertisement.
Matt,
How you been? Heard you’re out of IMLP. Hope it’s not true.

I think it may depend upon your vehicle. I have a Forester and Yakima racks and they made this gawdawful noise when going above 60. I got the tiny fairing for the front tube that is about two inches long and twelve inches wide and it made the noise disappear. Called the windjammer.
My experience was that the fairing killed my gas mileage. I removed the fairing and my mileage increased dramatically.
I was looking at the windjammer.
did you get just one? it seems that one would need more than just 8" of fairing to do the trick. and how about the rear bar?
any suggestions for me?
I got it a few years ago. About one week after getting the Yakima kit. The noise was unbearable. I thought about getting the big thing but I was a bit put off by buying more hardware. I was freaking amazed that the little thing worked. This is where I think it depends on your car. Maybe it will work and maybe it won’t. The rear bar didn’t matter. Already turbulent air I assume by then.
the other side?
the other side, what?
am i missing something?
sorry. just flip the shield 180 degrees so ‘YAKIMA’ faces aft.
