Okay, the Deinhard sparkling Riesling is kicking in, big time (Happy New Year’s Eve) - nevertheless…
There were some good strings on the old board re: tunes for running. Speedwork vs. the long run, etc. - so this is not completely off-topic.
Ron Sexsmith is a hell of a tunesmith. Much loved by Elvis Costello, the lead singer for Coldplay whose name I can never remember, and many others. But according to the local Vancouver rag, the US citizenry is ignoring this talented fellow in record (no pun intended) numbers. Less than 5,000 in U.S. sales for his latest CD (titled Cobblestone Runway). So give this Canuck a listen (ideal for the long run) and go and friggin’ buy his CD.
Yours in desperation (and no, not in any way financially connected to Mr. Sexsmith)
Ron Sexsmith is great!-By the way the guy from Coldplay is named Chris Martin. If you like Sexsmith you should also check out a singer by the name of Josh Rouse. Hasn’t made it big time, but I like that obscurity. Cameron Crowe at least is a fan(one of Rouse’s songs was featured in the movie Vanilla Sky). Any of his albums would definately be long bike/run material.
