Man, he was EVERYWHERE! Helping at registration, shuttling for food, taking photos all over, etc. Was really great to meet you John! Couldn’t have asked for a better volunteer as you are a great photographer anyway, have a good inside knowledge of racing, and know about everybody!
I’m looking forward to the photos too but that’s because I think BottomFeeder will have been working hard to catch you lot looking your worst for the amusement of the masses
.
You are correct! He was shooting MarkinCin in T1 - the LONE bike there That has got to be good.
He was actually laying in the middle of the road as I ran by once and every other concievable angle I saw him shooting (on the bike, over his shoulder, etc.) Pretty cool I thought!
I agree. Great to meet you John, you put in a LONG day out there and did a great job. 500+ pics, WOW. I hope that you training continues to go well and that we can catch up again down in FL next winter!
Should be good, hopefully he’ll get something posted in the next few days…I just hope for your sake that you didn’t scratch your butt when he was in range
.
Ah quit it rroof. All props go to R10C for creating this race and seeing it through in flying colors. Newbz and I were shaking our heads as we drove to O’Hare thinking about what Chip had to do AFTER the race (tear down the transition area, clean up all the aid stations, etc.) And that’s on little to no sleep all week long AND having to hold down his job this week. Ouch indeed. I didn’t do shit.
All I did was take pictures and hang out with cool folks like yourself. It was a blast meeting most of the ST’ers, and I regret not covering the ST race more uniformly. I think I was an elitist photographer!.. which may explain why I did not record Mark in Cin’s run of shame to the lone bike on the ST racks in T1. Haha.
Hey Chip I let Estee out again and couldn’t find her before I left. I hope you found her yesterday evening.
It was great meeting you out on the run course. Thanks for keeping me company for a little while, it was lonely out there without many people to talk to.
It was all my pleasure. I saw this chick who was just mowing down the field like an angry tornado, and I just knew I had to cover her incredible run… never realizing she was a fellow slowtwitcher, and “almost drowning” to boot, whose posts I follow, and whom I always thought as a boy. So imagine mys surprise as you introduced yourself to me, and I put two and two together. And then I fell in love with you after that…
I talked to Miss Nicole Horst afterward, who had been leading the women’s race up to the point where you passed her on the run. She was impressed by your pass, and she gave you lots of kudos! I was just proud to be lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time to cover that pass, and I think you and Miss Horst will enjoy the pictures of that little “duel”.
