Rocket science?

It’s funny to me that many people will spend buku bucks $$$$$ on a faster frame, aero wheels, lighter water bottle holders! trying to make themselves faster. if they only lost 10-15 pounds they could be faster for a lot cheaper…(saw fat guys at race comparing 5,000 bikes).

lookout luke, youre going to catch the bad mojo sent my way last week—read “Why do you Care” or “Define the term: Poser”
.

Absolutely true. But it’s fun buying new toys.

Why do you think the only reason they buy a nice bike is to go faster? Why don’t you live in a very small cheap house? What kind of car do you drive? Heck this is the USA , We are free to make some choices. Some people seem to think they should decide for us!
Are there any triathletes thinner than you? should you lose wt. Who should decide?
Do you enjoy tri’s ? If so go do them and leave the judgement thing to

I remember a time when triathletes didn’t stoop this level. Everyone was welcome, however they felt like competing. We’re no better than the roadies now. How sad.

Some people just love the technology. The other day a girl I just started dating saw my collection of watches. She asked, “Why do you need so many watches?” I told her the truth:
“I don’t”. Get it?

It’s a person’s perogotive to “buy faster”.

Some people, like this furry poster, has done both-buy faster AND lose the 10-15 lbs, as the faster bike motivates them to lose the extra. It is mighty embarassing to have the trickest bike in the rack and be one of the slower racers.

Don’t worry about the ones who buy faster but could stand for a bit of self-improvement. I would worry more about the guys/girls who are already fast and buying speed. As I always say, one day, one will feel that their equipment is holding them back, and it can put that ever so slight edge or level the field ever so slight.
