Given the buzz this has created in the last 90 minutes on triathlon forums I’d say this was a media coup for WTC.
I think these competions are great. They get creative mind looking at a problem in a unque way. But this is a fraud. The robot wont complete an IM, because a IM is 17 hours.
Second its not a robot, its 3 robots.
Third it sounds like the robot is going to have significant out side assistance.

If someone could actually create a robot that could do the course without assistance and finish within 17 hours, then I’d be impressed. This is just a toy and the “effort” that feels like a college student prank. I could get a radio controlled boat and a radio controlled car and with unlimited time and rechargeable batteries could claim the same feat.
If they make a robot that can do the IM in sub 17 without assistance I think its name would be Master…
