Take another look at the guy and consider the context. He’s extremely obese and he’s wearing a skintight cycling kit. His belly is so big that he can’t even get the jersey down far enough to cover his white t-shirt underneath the bib. And he’s in a procession that’s walking down a street with fans on either side. It’s quite clear that his presence was for comic effect. And we’re ridiculing him, as they had intended. So how does that make us “assholes”?
