I am racing in the Pioneer 8km in Saanichton tomorrow and wanted to get a report from a local on what the roads are like for riding.
Plan is to catch the ferry to the island in the morning and ride my winter bike from the ferry terminal to the Saanichton Fairrounds. Could someone let me know if the rides are ok to ride after the recent storms. Happy to ride through dirt and muck but not to keen on ice

You’re fine. Thanks to the weather gods for dumping buckets for about a week straight. I think it’ll be raining the next few days then get nice come mid-week. Bring your booties and fenders. Also a good jacket and gloves since you’ll probably be on the Pat Bay Hwy and the spray from the cars sucks. Happy racing.
