Am i going to have any issues using 17mm rim tape with my front HED C2 wheel. I would normally use 22mm, but this all the store had and i need my wheel to race for tomorrow

When I bought my Ardennes, HED recommendedd 22mm. I’d give them a call. They’re open for a few more hours.
Yeah, you probably need 22. Not only is the rim wide, the holes are drilled off center). Reinforced packing tape (with the glass fibers in it) works in a pinch.
On my Jet9 C2 I used red veloplugs (they cover the holes, but won’t snap tightly in) and covered each with a square of electrical tape to keep them in place…light and works well.

I can never remember what size is what…but if you are using Velox rim tape, they make 3 sizes with the largest size being for MTN bike rims. The middle size and the large size (for mtbs) work. The smaller one probably won’t work.
If that’s all you got and you can’t get the right size, then you can get by with the reinforced packing tape idea above, or electrical tape.
