Rim tape and HED 3?

Do I need to put rim tape on my HED3?? with buytl tubes?

Just insure the edge on the valve hole is smooth. Never needed rim tape on the H3’s.

As long as the rim surface is smooth and there are no holes or crevices for the tube to “extrude” into (which it will) then no. If there is a hole or crevice, I would think a small piece of tape in those areas would suffice.
