We were going to do The Mario Ride but winds and temps were more favorable for The Island Ride (Grosse Ile).
Mikey, Aderhold, Mario and I. Out to Island across pay bridge to Grosse Ile. Pay bridge has a new toll booth located just before the bridge entrance. A sign there said the bridge will be closed 3 weeks starting March 28th. A large collection of metal bridge plating suggests the bridge will be getting a new deck (it’s a retractable draw bridge).
Nearly 200 swans seen under the bridge on and around the ice flows. Bishop’s Bed and Breakfast is not yet open for the season so we diverted to our secondary objective, a new Korean bakery which was excellent.
Terrible winds today. They constantly seemed to be blowing in the wrong direction. We were out for about three hours total. nice ride. Beautiful day.
