Reynolds Element T/Disc

Anyone use this wheel? Or a pair of Reynolds wheels? Just looking for an opinion on them if you have one. Thanks.

I have an 2007 set of KoMs. I love them, but use them sparingly. I think there are better choices for a disc, unless you get a smokin’ deal.

I picked up a set of Reynold Assaults on my road bike and the SDVC66/Element for my tt bike this year. I have used either zipp 606 for 909 in the past.

I am impressed with the Reynolds so far. The brake surface is decent. I would say the stopping power is comparable to the zipp surface. The reynolds come with carbon brake pads, so that is a nice touch.

As for the element. the hub feels smooth, the quality of the disc looks great. The valve hole is far supperior to zipp. you can pump the tire up without using a crack pipe.

I haven’t spent a ton of time on either one, but my initial impression is good. However, I also really enjoyed my zipp 606’s. They were a great wheelset (until they decided to make love to a pothole).

The biggest question would be: Are they faster than other wheelsets out there? I have no idea. I doubt it. Maybe some of the other experts on here could enlighten us.

One other point, in Canada the Reynolds are a much better price than a Zipp.
