in a recent thread I defended carbon clinchers re; safety, but that said, I must say that I don’t see the point of them. A $2000 wheelset is not going to be used as an everyday set of beater wheels, so these are really race wheels. The tubular version is over $500 cheaper, and lighter to boot. Hell, for the difference in cash get the UL version of the Reynolds, and still be cheaper.
Both the Zipp 404 and Reynolds Stratus are excellent wheels. Go with whichever matches your bike the best.
